Pharmacy is a field in medicine which links health science with chemical science. Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) is an under graduate diploma programme in the medicinal field of Pharmacy which enables a candidate to know the basic concepts of pharmaceutical science. After the completion of D.Pharm course, the candidate becomes a registered pharmacist and have a huge career scope both in government as well as private organizations.
Candidate who have passed the Higher Secondary Exam (+2) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics as optional Subjects and equivalent thereto are eligible to apply.
Out of 60 seats available, 30% of seats will be merit seats and it will be filled up according to rank as per the merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained for Physics & Chemistry at the qualifying examination. The remaining 70% will be management seat. Selection & Admission to Management Quota for D.Pharm course will be done according to rank as per the merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained for Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Mathematics of the qualifying examination.
The course will extend over a period of two academic years with each academic year spread over a period of not less than one hundred and eighty working days. There shall be an examination in the first year on the subjects of Part-I and an examination in the second year comprising the Part-II subjects. The course of study for D.Pharm Part-1 and D.Pharm part-II shall include the subjects as given in below.


On successful completion of the course, the candidate will have to undergo 500 hours of practical training spread over a period of not less than 3 months in a Govt. Hospital or recognized institute approved for the purpose by Pharmacy Council of India.
Competency is defined as “A distinct composite of knowledge, skill, attitude and value that is essential to the practice of the profession in real life contexts”. The candidates who successfully complete the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) program of Education Regulations 2020 (ER-2020), from the institutions approved by the Pharmacy Council of India are expected to attain the following professional competencies.
After finishing diploma successfully in pharmacy, one will be registered as pharmacist by PCI (pharmacy council of India). One will receive a license to open a medical store & one can practice as registered pharmacist.
